15 Signs He Doesn’t Want a Relationship with You & Just Wants Fun

You’re really into him, but how does he feel about the relationship? Does he want more or do you see the signs he doesn’t want a relationship with you?

When it comes to dating, it’s not easy. No one tells you how difficult it is to find someone who not only likes you but wants the same things as you. The signs he doesn’t want a relationship with you will help you see the future of your relationship.

Many of my friends were in long term relationships and didn’t want to bring up the future because they feared possibly losing their partner. But, at the same time, they were completely left in the dark.

Some ended up married to their partners, and others ended up genuinely heartbroken. This is what happens when you don’t communicate your needs and see how they’re feeling too.

How to see the signs he doesn’t want a relationship with you

If you’ve talked about what you want and he’s playing around with you, then he’s a straight-up jerk. But, if you haven’t talked about it with him, and you’re just waiting for him to make a move, well, then this is on you.

If you want a relationship and you’re unsure of what he wants, speak up. Of course, you probably want some signs to see if you can read what he wants. And that’s a good idea. By knowing the signs, you’ll get a sense of what he’s looking for. Next, sit down and talk to him about your relationship and where it’s going. Don’t waste any more time. Finally learn if you are on the same page?

#1 He’s mentioned he’s not looking for anything serious. If he’s told you, he’s not looking for anything serious; this isn’t him trying to trick you. If he’s said this, it’s because that’s what he’s looking for. Don’t interpret it as anything else. If he doesn’t want anything serious, and he hasn’t tried to make the relationship exclusive, then it’s not going to happen. [Read: What does casual dating mean to a guy?]

#2 You don’t feel comfortable around him. You already know he doesn’t want a relationship; you just don’t want to accept the truth. You wouldn’t be reading this if you were feeling completely comfortable and in love. But you’re not. Instead, you’re uncomfortable around him, and you’re trying to figure out why.

#3 He doesn’t try to know you. Does he know what you’re studying? Where you want to travel? Who you admire? It may sound silly, but when someone likes you, they want to know who you are. Why? Because if they’re thinking about a future with you, they want to know who you are. [Read: Is he a player or a gentleman? 13 clear giveaways]

#4 He doesn’t open up around you. When someone trusts and has feelings for you, they’re going to open up emotionally. Taking that step forward and being vulnerable shows they’re comfortable around you and want the relationship to develop further. If your conversations are as deep as a kiddie pool, that’s not a good sign.

#5 He’s flaky. He shows up to work on time or when he has to go to his parent’s house. But when it comes to meeting you, he’s flaky. If a guy is serious about you, he’s not going to behave like this. If you value someone, you’re going to make them a priority. But if he’s flaky, it’s one of the clearest signs he doesn’t want a relationship with you, and that you’re not as important to him as you think. #6 You don’t go on actual dates. You’ll go over to his place for Netflix and chill night, or he’ll come over to your place for a sleepover, but you don’t go on dates together. He doesn’t go out for dinner with you or take you to the movies. There’s nothing going on.

#7 He doesn’t want to label the relationship. Well, this is a huge red flag. If he doesn’t want to label the relationship or call you his girlfriend, he’s not into being in a relationship, at least not with you. If he wanted you to be his girlfriend, he would make you his girlfriend.

#8 He disappears. You will talk for a couple of days then he disappears. He doesn’t answer your texts, or he’ll bail on your plans. And just when you’re sure he’s not coming around, he pops back up again. Whatever his issues are, you shouldn’t be strung along.

#9 He doesn’t make time for you. If someone likes you, they’ll spend as much time with you as possible. But if you struggle to spend one day or night a week with him, that’s not a good sign. Maybe he likes you, but not enough to invest time into you. [Read: The 14 signs a guy is drifting away from you]

#10 He doesn’t make future plans with you. You make plans for the end of the week, but when it comes to the future, he’s silent. You don’t plan for the summer or talk about where you see yourselves in six months. He’s not into you, if he was, he’d be making plans with you.

#11 You haven’t met his friends or family. Uh oh. Okay, wait. If you just met, I understand why you haven’t met his friends or family yet. It’s too soon for that. But if you’ve been dating for a couple of months, at the very least, you should have met a friend. If he’s keeping you away from the people he loves, it’s one of those glaring signs he doesn’t want a relationship with you, and in all probability, he’s not sure about you.

#12 He only texts you. When it comes to communication, you don’t talk on the phone. The only way you communicate is through texting… that’s it. But if you’ve been seeing each other for a couple of months, it’s safe to say you’re past that point. If he was really into you, he would call you. #13 You don’t trust him. There’s something about him you don’t trust. Of course, it could be that you’re insecure, but if you see this with other signs on this list, then your instincts are right. But either way, if you can’t trust him, then what’s the point of trying to be with him.

#14 He talks a big game but doesn’t follow through. He’ll text you that he misses you but won’t make time to see you. Of course, when he tells you these things, it feels nice, but what are his actions? Because, at the end of the day, that’s what matters. If his actions don’t match his words, he’s not serious about you. [Read: Why men pull away – The reasons and what you can do]

#15 You feel he’s not interested in a relationship. Deep down, you know what’s going on. You just don’t want to accept the truth. But your gut instinct is telling you this guy doesn’t want the same as you do. So, what are you waiting for?
