How to Feel More Confident in Your Body & Fall in Love With YOU

Learn how to feel more confident in your body today. It’s time to take the power back over what your mind tells you to think about your body.

For centuries, bodies have been subjected to judgment and scrutiny. People who don’t know us feel they have the right to comment on how we look. What if we turned the tables? It is possible to learn how to feel more confident in your body.

The problem women face

We feel judged at the beach, at school, and at work. We are made to believe only certain body types are accepted and praised whereas every other body type is just not good enough. No matter what shape or size we are, we are told it isn’t good enough.

Women are constantly told to diet and lose weight and exercise. Women are told if they are too big, it is unhealthy. But if a woman is too petite she is gross and needs to get some meat on her bones. Some people praise those with curves while others drool over a slim body. We are told our skin should be smooth, hairless, free of dimples and cellulite.

With all of this, it is no wonder that women struggle so much with body positivity and confidence. We struggle to love our own bodies because we have been taught for ages that we should criticize others and ourselves. [Read: How to learn these 12 simple, daily self-love habits]

Why you deserve to feel more confident in your body

With all the criticism and photoshopping and advertising to make us think we should eat a certain way or dress a certain way or look a certain way, it’s hard not to believe it. We look in the mirror and focus on the things we wish we could change. We want clearer skin. And we want thinner thighs or a flatter stomach. We want bigger boobs or fuller hair.

All these things contribute to how we see ourselves through others’ eyes and how we see ourselves through our own eyes.

We judge ourselves for not being strict enough with our workouts. We look at indulging in cake as a failure, and we compete against other women. [Read: Self-concept – What it is and why it’s crucial to your happiness]

Not only is this unhealthy for society but also our mental and physical health. By believing we need to change our bodies from the majestic beings they are, we are being cruel to ourselves.

We starve ourselves and try skinny teas which give us stomach issues because we think we need it to look in the mirror and love what we see. We dress in loose clothes to hide our bodies or drab colors to pull attention away from ourselves.

[Read: How to be a happier person – these steps will change your life]

Because we don’t wear things we love, we don’t feel comfortable, or worse, think others will be uncomfortable. Women have been pushed back in society for so long. By insisting we change our physical appearance, we are only holding ourselves back even more.

Not only will we come farther and be happier and healthier if we could feel confident in our bodies the way we are, but we would give ourselves more credit.

We would empower ourselves and each other. We wouldn’t judge other women on how they look and then maybe others wouldn’t either. If we could look at ourselves in the mirror and focus on what we love instead of what we hate or want to change, we could be more productive.

We deserve to love ourselves exactly as we are. Warts, scars, acne, curves, bones, no matter what you’ve been told your imperfections are, they make you, you. And that is beautiful.

How to feel more confident in your body

I know that listening to inspirational words and changing how you see yourself is easier said than done. It is an ongoing journey of growth that takes time.

You won’t read this article and feel confident in your body tomorrow morning or next week or by the time it is bathing suit season. This is something that takes years to overcome because it took years to form in the first place.

Learning how to feel more confident in your body is hard. You still have to face the world and society and those who haven’t been able to do so. All these things push back at you and force you to give in to the feelings of inadequacy.

It takes practice, self-love, kindness, and strength to learn how to feel confident in your body the way it is. But, you can do it. Who is it that said nothing worth doing is ever easy?

#1 Compliment yourself daily. I know this seems silly! But complimenting yourself daily on something physical or not will remind you of what you have to offer the world and yourself. Look in the mirror and tell yourself your hair is amazing or your hips are killer. Tell yourself how smart you are.

Remind yourself you are worthy of compliments and these statements are true. [Read: How to change your self-deprecating attitude]

#2 Focus on health. Instead of looking at the inches off your waist or the weight on a scale, focus on your actual health. Drink plenty of water. Exercise enjoyably. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Indulge when you want, but focus on the foods that make you feel good.

#3 Appreciate all your body does for you. Thank your body for all it does. It keeps you alive. It cleans you out. It keeps you going and offers you joy and pleasure. It gives you the ability to hear music and see the sunset and taste chocolate.

Appreciate all the good your body does instead of focusing on what you can’t control.

#4 Don’t look for outside acceptance. Looking to Instagram comments or even the compliments of friends and family for validation will never offer what you truly seek. Outside validation is a momentary sense of joy. True confidence in your body comes from within. Until you are happy with your body, whatever anyone else says won’t be enough.

#5 Shop for yourself. Don’t shop for what the store or magazines say is your body type. Don’t follow fashion rules. You can wear horizontal stripes and white pants and large prints. Shop what you love and style it in a way that makes you admire yourself. [Read: How to change your life and give your life a dramatic makeover]

#6 Appreciate all your looks. Sure, makeup and a cute outfit offer confidence. They make us feel good, but learn to appreciate the lazy days too. If you want to understand how to feel more confident in your body, look at yourself in sweats and no makeup, and realize that this is still you and that is amazing.

#7 Compliment others without body talk. Releasing positivity into the world sends it back to you. Instead of telling others their bodies look amazing or that they lost weight and you’re proud, compliment them in other ways. Let them know that the color of their shirt brings out their eyes or that their outfit is amazing.

You can tell someone they look amazing without commenting on the size or shape of their body. Even when it is a compliment, any comment about someone’s body can be twisted.

#8 Do things for yourself. Don’t just tell yourself kind things. Do them. Take time for yourself. Cancel plans and do a face mask and have a glass of wine. Go get a massage or buy the dress you’ve been eyeing. Do things that make you feel good because you deserve them. [Read: How to feel good about yourself and kick ass in all aspects of life]

#9 Step outside your comfort zone. With so much criticism about our bodies, we overthink. We get nervous to wear certain things because of the looks or comments we could get. Try to take baby steps. Look in the mirror and if you love something, wear it.

Odds are that you will feel amazing in it and nothing anyone else says or does will matter. Dress for you, not anyone else. You don’t need a “standard” bikini body to wear a bikini. All bodies are bikini bodies. [Read: How to dress sexy by throwing away the frumpy and going for boom]

#10 Learn that size doesn’t matter. In case you haven’t noticed, there is no such thing as universal sizing. Whether you are normally a 0 or a 16, you go to another store and your size could be off by two or even three numbers. But there is nothing wrong with you, it is the clothes.

It isn’t you that doesn’t fit in the clothes, but the clothes that don’t fit you. Sure, the numbers are there as a guideline. If you were a 6 at the last store, you may pick up a 6 at this store but that is only a starting point. The numbers don’t define your worth, you define your worth. [Read: Here’s how to flaunt your body confidence this summer!]

#11 Believe what you’re saying. When you tell yourself you are worthy of confidence in your body believe it. Don’t just claim to love yourself, really take the steps to do it. Don’t just preach body positivity. Understand what it will do for you and an entire generation of women to actually feel proud of the bodies they have.

Learning how to feel more confident in your body is a lifelong journey, but it is never too late to love yourself.

14 Disturbing Signs Your Boyfriend Is Falling for Your Friend

You’re head over heels in love, but you’re noticing disturbing signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend. Could it be he has feelings for her?

Oh, well, this is awkward. There have been moments when I introduced my friend to a guy I was seeing, and suddenly, I noticed some chemistry between them. The good thing is, I wasn’t too attached to the guy, but have you seen signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend and been worried?

I was able to make the decision of whether or not I wanted to continue seeing him. Obviously, I didn’t continue the relationship. If he can flirt with my friend in front of my face, then there’s no way he was genuinely interested in me.

But, I couldn’t imagine how it would feel to see your boyfriend, someone you really like, fall for your friend. It’s not an easy thing to witness. To be honest, there’s not much you can actually do about it.

[Read: The gut-wrenching signs your boyfriend is into your friend]

14 signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend

What can you do? Fight them both? End your friendship? You can’t control the way people feel, but you can control your reaction. Firstly, you must figure out what’s going on before you take action.

Is your boyfriend falling for your friend? It’s time you went through the signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend and figured out what’s going on. Of course, you will have to talk to your boyfriend about this too.

#1 He flirts with her in front of you. Well, let me just say, first of all, this isn’t cool. Your boyfriend should never be flirting with another woman in front of you. If that happens, it shows he doesn’t respect you. Would you flirt with another guy in front of him? Exactly, there’s your answer. If he’s flirting with your friend in front of you, it’s clear he has feelings for her or is at least excited by her. [Read: How guys flirt: 15 subtle things guys do to impress a girl]

#2 You feel there’s something going on. When you hang out with them, you just know there’s something going on. You can feel it, but it’s hard to explain. If your gut instinct is telling you there’s something sexual going on between your boyfriend and friend, listen to your gut.

#3 He’s excited when you bring her up. Maybe you’re inviting her over for dinner or just updating him on information about her, but he’s oddly interested when you talk about her. One of the more obvious signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend is his curiosity about her and her life. He asks questions, but there’s just something about the way he asks that makes you feel something is going on. [Read: Emotional cheating and the toll it can take on your relationship]

#4 Your friend doesn’t talk to you as much. Aside from them flirting with each other, and other signs from this list, you’ve also noticed your friend take a step back from your relationship with her. Either it can be she’s feeling uncomfortable with his behavior and is trying to avoid him, or she’s feeling guilty because she’s also into your boyfriend.

#5 He routinely asks about her. My boyfriend will ask me about a friend of mine when he knows there’s some drama, etc. But, he won’t be asking about my friend all the time. If your boyfriend is constantly asking you about one friend in particular, that’s something you should be aware of.

#6 He’s all over her social media. It’s normal to follow our partner’s friends on social media; it’s almost offensive not to follow them. Don’t ask me about the rules of social media. But your boyfriend is always commenting and liking her photos. Come on, that’s a little odd, don’t you think? [Read: 15 things you should never do on Instagram when you have a girlfriend]

#7 They text each other a lot. Listen, you may text your boyfriend’s friends to arrange a hangout, etc. But you’re not spending hours a day texting them. If your boyfriend is texting your friend quite a lot, that’s a red flag. Why do they need to text each other all the time? What’s going on? Perhaps it’s time for a chat with your boyfriend and friend.

#8 They hang out without you. Sometimes we date people who share the same friends like us. In that case, your friends will continue hanging out with you and your boyfriend. But, usually, if you do hang out with your friends, you do it together. If your friend is spending more alone time with your partner, that’s something you need to keep an eye on. [Read: Love triangles and its confusing complications]

#9 She routinely asks about him. It’s normal for your friends to ask about your relationship, so don’t take this too close to heart. So, the issue isn’t about her asking about him, it’s more about what she asks. Is there something she’s asking that’s making you feel uncomfortable or overstepping her boundaries?

#10 They suddenly become very close. A little too close. It’s normal for your boyfriend to get to know your friends, especially if you spend a lot of time with them. But you’re noticing your friend and boyfriend are getting a little too chummy. They’re flirty, touch each other, and it’s clear they’re crossing the line. [Read: 15 very obvious signs of flirting between a guy and a girl]

#11 He makes jokes about her being his “second girlfriend.” Maybe the three of you spend a lot of time together, and maybe he makes a joke about your friend being his second or “other” girlfriend. He may just be joking, but there’s truth in every joke. If this has happened paired with the next item on this list, that’s not a good sign.

#12 He’s aroused after she leaves. This is a bit of a tricky one. Sometimes, it’s just timing, and other times, it’s a little weird. Maybe you finally managed some alone time right after hanging out with your friend. But then there are times when your friend leaves and your man is all over you but in an unusual way.

#13 He’s called you by her name. Well, this is awkward. Why would he ever call you by her name? If he called you by your friend’s name, more than once, that’s one of those very disturbing signs your boyfriend is falling for your friend. Of course, sometimes, we’re not thinking and blurt out things we don’t mean. So, if this happens once, it’s not necessarily something serious. But if he’s doing this more than once, that may be a sign. [Read: Could you be dating a serial cheater?]

#14 Other people have made comments about them. You may be thinking you’re going crazy, and that you’re the only one who’s noticing this. But if other people are making comments to you about your boyfriend and friend, then you’re not losing your mind. If other people notice, then what you’re seeing is very real.

How Do People Become Self Centered and Stop Caring About Others?

Self centered people are no fun to be around, but how do people become self centered in the first place? Can self centeredness be avoided?

When someone thinks about nobody but themselves, they’re not exactly a picture of fun to be around. They can be bullying or defensive too, and leaves you wondering, how do people become self centered in the first place?

A self centered person doesn’t care about your feelings, won’t be bothered about your day, and will turn everything around to themselves. Of course, this sounds very much like a narcissism picture. A self centered person certainly shares many traits with NPD sufferers. Just because someone is self centered doesn’t necessarily mean they are narcissistic. It’s a trait, a behavior which causes them to focus on themselves and push everyone else out of the picture. [Read: How to recognize selfish people instantly and stop them from hurting you]

Self centered people aren’t necessarily constantly this way. It might be that they act self centered much of the time, but then they have moments when they’re actually half decent. This is what confuses those around them. You’re never sure if they’re actually a bad person at heart, or if there’s something else lurking beneath the surface.

[Read: Do you love talking and hate listening?]

What are the causes of self centeredness?

Of course, you might wonder how do people become self centered in the first place? Are they born that way? Does something happen which causes a switch to be flicked on?

It can be many different reasons. For instance, a narcissist is a total picture of self centeredness. But is a narcissist developed or born? There is a lot of evidence to suggest that they’re developed over time possibly from the way they were brought up, but they can also be born that way too, simply as a personality trait they possess.

However, this isn’t the only answer to how do people become self centered. If a person goes through a difficult time, perhaps a traumatic relationship or a period of time when they have been forced to be alone or become generally lonely, self centeredness may come into the equation to protect them from their feelings. [Read: What really causes narcissism? The facts and theories to understand a narcissist’s mind]

How do people become self centered from loneliness

You might wonder how this can happen. If someone has spent a certain amount of time alone, they’re going to become self dependent, but why would they become self centered as a result?

This won’t be the case for every single person who has been through a lonely time in their lives, but it can turn a switch which causes them to focus entirely on themselves out of survival. It’s a protection technique, a way of keeping them out of harm’s way, almost like a wall they build around themselves.

[Read: Simple ways to calmly deal with difficult people]

The same can be said for someone who has been through a traumatic time in their lives, perhaps they have just come out of an abusive relationship. Depending upon the degree of trauma, they may end up turning inward, therefore focusing on themselves and not daring to open up to others.

Self centeredness is also a trait of those who may be suffering from psychiatric illness, such as addiction, depression and anxiety, or personality disorders.

However, just because someone is suffering through a difficult mental health period in their lives, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to become self centered. Exercise a certain amount of caution when wondering how do people become self centered… there is no single right or wrong answer to it.

We’re all unique, every single one of us. What makes one person angry would make another person barely flinch, what makes one person very happy would have no effect on another person. This is what makes us special.

Specific circumstances in someone’s life can have different effects; a trauma may easily make one person quite self centered as a defense mechanism, but have zero effect on someone else. With that in mind, we can only speculate on how do people become self centered in reality. [Read: The power of your words can make or break your relationship with people]

What behavior types does a self centered person display?

Self centeredness puts you before everyone else. It assumes that you’re more important, but it does go a little deeper than that too.

A self centered person:

– Is always defensive. They see the world purely through their own eyes. As a result, they won’t stand for anyone who doesn’t agree or sees it differently.

– Thinks the entire world revolves around them. If something happens to someone or something happens in general, they will only want to focus on how it affects them.

– Can be quite bullying to others. They will dominate the entire scene and relationship/friendship.

– Always thinks they’re better than everyone else. If someone has something which they perceive to be better or high quality, they must have it for themselves.

– Uses others to get what they want. [Read: 16 signs a user can’t hide when they’re using you]

– Is extremely opinionated and believes that their opinion is the right one.

– Doesn’t have much empathy… or any at all.

– Will very happily tear another person down to build themselves up.

– Can be arrogant and overconfident.

– Is selfish and will do whatever they want, regardless of how it upsets or affects those around them. [Read: 23 secret signs of narcissism people overlook until it’s too late]

As you can see, self centeredness has many of the same traits as narcissism. DON’T totally confuse the two. Take a look at yourself occasionally. Check that you’re not showing any behaviors that reflect self centeredness.

For instance, maybe you’re going through a difficult period in your life. You show signs of this type of behavior to help you cope. A person who displays self centered behavior isn’t always a self centered person per se, it can simply be a period of time they’re going through, a defense mechanism they’ve put up.

Complete a regular check in with yourself and evaluate how you’re feeling and how you’re treating those around you. It can help you to identify whether or not you should change the way you interact with those in your circle. [Read: How to be a better person and grow into a kind human]

How to not fall into the trap

The fact is, people are complex. You might not have the first clue that you show signs of this type of behavior. For someone with a narcissistic approach to life, they’re definitely unaware of it.

When you experience a traumatic event in life, it is important to not turn off your empathy. We all go through difficult times and deal with problems. Embracing those around us and being open-hearted and kind is the best way through it. By allowing yourself to become self centered and pulling back from people, you create a pattern of behavior that will spiral over time. [Read: Selfless vs selfish love: Understanding the traits that set them apart]

Before you know it, you’ll be hemorrhaging friends. Nobody wants to or should put up with someone who is self centered all the time.

[Read: Am I a self centered narcissist? 10 simple questions to reveal the answer]

How do people become self centered? There are a myriad of reasons. Sometimes there’s no pinpoint answer to the question. But you can fix it, with the right amount of self reflection and effort.

Book Your Ticket to "Girls Chase Island"

girls chase island
Ready to beat approach anxiety once and for all and enjoy the experience of a lifetime? Book your vacation TODAY to Girls Chase Island, where the girls chase YOU.

With all the lockdown craziness we have going on now, I'm very excited to announce the general public opening of Girls Chase Island.

Girls Chase Island is the first vacation destination in the world where you are guaranteed to have hot girls chasing you.

If you're well traveled you might know about spots like the Philippines where the women are much easier than usual. However, even in the Philippines the women won't actually approach you very often (and the Philippines is not nearly as good or easy now as it was 10 years ago).

The question we had at GC though was "Where can a guy go in the West to experience an actual full on 'better than spring break' experience with the opposite sex?"

We wanted to use it both for training purposes to help some of the 'hard case' guys with really bad approach anxiety... and just in general as a really fun resort.

Because honestly, what guy doesn't want to fly to an island where, for once, desirable women chase him?

So, in 2018, we set to work to bring Girls Chase Island into being.

And now, a few years later, as we're opening it to the public, you can at last get your ticket to the island.

15 Obsessive Signs of Limerence That Are Easily Mistaken for Love

When we watch a romantic comedy, they create this storyline of how relationships should go. But they often mix up the signs of limerence for love.

I used to be obsessed with romantic comedies to the point where all I wanted was to experience an actual rom-com romance myself. How could I not want to live in a 90s rom-com? Exactly! But there’s a big problem with that type of romance. They often mistake signs of limerence with real love.

Honestly, it can be difficult to differentiate between limerence and love at the beginning of a relationship. This is when things can get a little messy for you.

When you first start dating someone, everything is heightened and intensified. You’re on cloud nine and can’t get enough of the other person. I know, I’ve been there too.

But, when it comes to limerence, the romantic attraction turns into obsessive thoughts and fantasies. The goal is to transform or keep the relationship at a high emotional state. This isn’t something that you are forcing upon yourself. Limerence is usually involuntary. Basically, someone with limerence just wants reciprocation of their intense feelings. And this is where limerence becomes a bit of a worry.

[Read: Oneitis? The unhealthy effects of falling madly in obsessive love]

The 15 strongest obsessive signs of limerence

The last thing you want is to become emotionally dependent and obsessed with the idea of your feelings being reciprocated. But don’t freak out, it’s good that you recognize that maybe your feelings aren’t genuine love.

Love or limerence?

#1 It can last for years. I’m not joking. Limerence can literally last for years. Now that I think of it, I probably suffered from limerence in high school. I liked this one guy for six years, literally. It took a long time for those feelings to pass. It didn’t help that the guy was sending me mixed signals as well. If anything, it prolonged the process. [Read: The soul crushing signs your crush doesn’t like you back]

#2 Limerence doesn’t have long-term potential. When you love someone, it’s based on making each other happy by spending time together and sharing each other’s interests, hobbies, and talents. But with limerence, there is no genuine love. Limerence is only about gaining someone or something’s affection. It doesn’t matter whether that person actually likes you or not.

#3 You fantasize about them. Whether you’re in a relationship with this person or not, you spend your time fantasizing about them. You think about the future with them, how it’ll look like, how intense your relationship will be. And, of course, all this fantasizing is distracting you from your everyday life. [Read: Infatuation symptoms that say you’re sick in love]

#4 Limerence is more than a crush. And it’s more than infatuation. With limerence, it’s more intense. See, with a crush or infatuation, they’re intense but short-term. However, the signs of limerence can last a long time, and the emotions are more dramatic with extreme highs and lows.

#5 You see them in everything. Whether you’re at work or walking down the street, everything you see reminds you of them. There’s nothing you don’t see that doesn’t remind you of them. And although this may sound romantic, even the strongest of couples don’t see their partners in everything.

#6 The relationship isn’t deep. You two could just be starting to date or don’t have any sort of relationship. Your relationship is quite shallow, at least for now. The thing is you’re already five steps ahead planning the wedding and what your children will look like. But you don’t even know this person. See the problem? [Read: 12 things you MUST do if you want to stop obsessing over someone]

#7 It’s not based on sex. See, this is what people get mixed up with. Limerence isn’t based on sex; that would be lust. Limerence is more based on getting attention from the object or person you have feelings for, rather than needing to fulfill a sexual desire. So, if you have limerence, it’s not about the sex.

#8 You overanalyze everything. Okay, okay, I personally think everyone is guilty of overanalyzing the words and actions of someone we like. So, just because you overanalyze, doesn’t mean it’s limerence. But overanalyzing is one of the signs. If you’re analyzing every breath they take, every word they say, and connecting it to you, then it’s becoming a little obsessive. [Read: How being smothered in a relationship can be confused for love]

#9 You believe they’re your soulmate. Whether you have had a soulmate before or not, you believe that they are the one. Your reasoning is that they feel this intense connection, almost as if you’re being pulled into them. The thing is, you barely know this person.

#10 You manipulate situations to be with them. You figure out where they’re working and “accidentally” show up to their work. You manipulate people around you to get closer to them. If you find yourself orchestrating events in hopes of getting closer to them, this is a very common sign of limerence.

#11 You experience physical symptoms. But actually! This isn’t made up! When you’re around this person or thinking of them; you feel physical symptoms like dizziness, and excessive sweating. You even stutter because of nerves. And though you may not realize it, these symptoms are directly correlated to the person you’re obsessed about.

#12 You feel that you can’t live without them. Maybe this is how you felt when you broke up with your first partner. You thought to yourself, “how can I live without them? I’ll never find love again.” But, with time, you will find love and move on. With limerence, you feel overwhelming anxiety and an unbearable need for their attention and affection.

#13 You easily sink into depression. When you don’t get the attention or affection you desire from this person, you feel hopeless. That hopelessness comes with mood swings and depression since you feel rejected.

#14 You place them on a pedestal. This person could literally hold the murder weapon in their hands, and you would say it wasn’t them. Because you fantasize about them, you place them on a pedestal. Whether they’re awkward, rude, or charming, you overlook their flaws and deem them as flawless beings. [Read: How to let go of a relationship that’s bad for you]

#15 You’re very jealous. Let me get one thing straight: you don’t need limerence to experience jealousy. When it comes to jealousy, it can pop up in any situation where you feel threatened. But in this situation, you may not even have an actual relationship with them. Instead, you feel bound to this person even though there is no relationship.

[Read: Don’t ignore these 14 signs of obsessive love]

Is it love or limerence? It’s not always easy to tell. But once you know the signs of limerence, you can figure it out for yourself.

Tactics Tuesdays: The Heavy Pause

heavy pause
Use the 'heavy pause' in the right moment, just before you escalate. It makes it EASIER to make moves with the women you want to make moves with.

A pregnant pause is a pause you make before you say something impactful, or when you wait for the other person to fill in the silence.

Yet there's a specific type of pregnant pause we can use for specific situations, right before escalation.

To differentiate this pause from the more generic pregnant pause, let's call this type of pause the 'heavy pause'.

You can use a heavy pause before any important courtship milestone:

Heavy pauses serve as a sort of 'moment of truth' when you find out whether a girl is ready for the next step or not.

They also let you build up anticipation before you take the plunge... which makes the next move you make all the sweeter.

And if you're used to speeding through your interactions, a few heavy pauses at the right places can make all the difference between a rushed courtship versus one that proceeds at a whirlwind pace yet never feels hurried to her.
