How to Keep a Girl Interested After the First Date & Not Be Pushy

Feeling a connection? Things went well on your date, but now what? Learn how to keep a girl interested after the first date.

So, you put a ton of pressure on yourself to make sure the first date went as planned? And it went well! Congratulations! But, now what? You survived the first date, but you didn’t think long-term. If you want to know how to keep a girl interested after the first date, it isn’t that hard. You already nailed the first impression.

First dates can come and go. It is easy to break things off if they go stale after a first date because you still barely know each other.

What got her interested?

So, you already had the first date. Take that as a win. She agreed to go out with you and followed through. Obviously, she is interested in you already, so you’ve been doing something right.

Think about what you’ve been doing. Are you having deep conversations? Are you cracking jokes left and right? Do you ask her questions about her childhood or her job?

[Read: 18 strongest signs your date likes you after the first date]

You don’t have to go to great lengths to learn how to keep a girl interested after the first date. She is likely already there so you can take what you’ve been doing and grow on that.

If she loves that you travel, plan a second date somewhere she’s never been but is still a reasonable driving distance. If she is interested in you because you share so many common interests, take her somewhere you’d both love like an arcade or amusement park.

You don’t have to put on a show or come up with these extravagant ideas to keep her interested until your next date. Just be yourself.

How to keep a girl interested after the first date

I know the advice, just be yourself, is so cliche. How do you be yourself? It is a weird thing to say but is effective. If you’re not being yourself, you’re letting her be interested in someone else. And if things progress, it likely won’t work out.

If you’re normally outgoing and talkative but very quiet and shy around her, she may think you’re mysterious when in fact you’re just nervous. Don’t lie to her and tell her you love something just because she does.

[Read: When you like someone – are you losing yourself to impress them?]

What will truly interest her after the first date is honesty and sincerity. She needs to feel a connection and will want to grow upon that. The only way for that to happen is by being genuine.

It is still pretty generalized advice. Try these things to intrigue her and feel a bit more confident in the fact that she’s interested in you.

#1 Follow-up after the first date. Don’t just leave her hanging to wonder how you think the date went. Let her know you hope she got home safe and that you can’t wait to see her again. This will put her mind at ease and keep her excited for the next date too. [Read: 21 perfect texts to send after a first date no matter how it went]

#2 Ask for a second date. Don’t beat around the bush. No one wants to be lead on. Clearly, you want a second date with her so come out and ask her. You can do this while saying goodbye at the end of the first date or with a follow-up text. [Read: Second date tips to build a perfect romance]

#3 Take action and make a plan. Don’t just let her know you want to see her again but actually ask her out on a proper date. Pick a day and a place and ask her out. If you leave it up in the air, you may never nail down an actual plan. She will take you more seriously if you put in the effort to make a real plan.

#4 Don’t text too much. You don’t want her to lose interest or forget about you before seeing you again but you also don’t want to come off as clingy. You don’t need to text her all day long. Maybe chat a bit during your lunch break and then when you get home in the evening.

Try not to text about the weather or things like that. Go into each conversation with a purpose. Bring up a movie you watched or ask if she saw a new preview. This will help the conversation feel more natural and will forego the “Hey, what’s up?” text. [Read: When should a guy call a girl after the first date?]

#5 Video chat. If you’re too busy or your schedules don’t align, you may not be able to see her again for a week or so. If you go more than four days after your first date before a second one, try a video chat date.

If you’re wondering how to keep a girl interested after the first date, make plans to eat dinner or even breakfast together for an hour over video chat. This will give you a bit of those pre-date butterflies and will hold you both off until your next real date.

#6 Do something cute. You’ve only had a first date so you aren’t trying to keep the flame alive in a marriage. You don’t need to do anything major, but doing something small and cute for her will definitely keep a girl interested after a first date.

I know it is sort of old-fashioned, but sending her flowers is actually very sweet. You can even put a modern twist on the classic mixtape and make her a Spotify playlist of your favorite songs. [Read: 8 romantic gestures from the olden days all girls miss]

#7 Start watching a show together. Whether you both start binging a Netflix show or are watching something on cable, being able to have something to consistently talk about will help the conversation flow more naturally. I once went out with a guy I had zero chemistry with, but once I found out we both watched The Bachelor, our conversations were so much easier and I saw a lot more potential between us.

#8 Make a list of future date ideas. If you really like this girl, talk with her about things she’d like to do with you. My guess is there are plenty of things she has wanted to do on a date but hasn’t had the opportunity to do.

Make a list together of places you’d like to go to. Maybe a public garden or park. Perhaps go on a picnic or ride bikes. Making this list together will give you both things to look forward to.

#9 Interact on social media. Texting isn’t the only way to keep a girl interested after a first date. At this point, you’re probably following each other on social media. Be sure to like her new photos and send her funny videos or photos back when she sends on to you.

Keeping your interactions playful can keep you from worrying too much. [Read: How to comment on a girl’s picture on Instagram and get a response]

#10 Send her memes. Memes are the modern-day flirting for dummies. They are the easiest way to make someone laugh while putting in little to no effort. With that, it does show that something you saw randomly made you think of her.

I know it can seem silly and you don’t want to go overboard, but sending one to three memes to her a day that reminded you of something she said during your first date or something you bond over can put a smile on her face. [Read: How to entertain a girl over text and excite her mind]

#11 Ask her opinion. If you are struggling to find something to talk about to keep her attention after the first date, ask her opinion on something. This will show her that you appreciate and respect what she has to say. You truly want to know what she thinks.

You can go simple, by showing her two shirts and ask which she likes more, or which recipe looks better. Or you can even ask her about politics or religion which could be risky, but also beneficial. [Read: The texting and follow-up guide after your first date]

#12 Don’t overthink. Try not to worry too much. I know this is hard. But, honestly, she is probably just as nervous as you are. She is probably wondering how to keep your interest after the first date.

And remember, this awkward time will pass. Once you get passed the third or fourth date, things feel a lot more comfortable.

[Read: Make her want a second date before the first one ends]

Knowing how to keep a girl interested after the first date can seem daunting. But, with a little confidence and a lot of honesty, it doesn’t have to be so hard.

How to Stop Fighting with Your Boyfriend and Hurting Each Other

Regularly arguing with your guy? Does the smallest thing start a row? Learn how to stop fighting with your boyfriend and feel the love.

From time to time, it’s normal to have an argument or fall out with your boyfriend. Nobody can be all loved up and happy 100% of the time. If you never argue, quite frankly there’s something a little wrong! However, that doesn’t mean you should be fighting with your guy on a regular basis. So, here are some tips for how to stop fighting with your boyfriend and feel the love.

Most of don’t realize that to argue occasionally is actually healthy. We’re all human beings with flaws and that means that we’re going to get on each other’s nerves occasionally. We’re going to misunderstand one another. All of this is a natural and normal part of life.

However, not being able to go a few days without World War III commencing is certainly not part of a healthy or happy relationship. In that case, what exactly is the issue? Are you arguing about the same thing all the time, or it is always something different?

[Read: Why fighting is important in a relationship… if you do it right]

The good news is that with mindful commitment and communication, you can learn how to stop fighting with your boyfriend and regain some of the harmony you had before. However, it’s a two way street here. He also should be part of the process.

The key? Talking! Communication! Most of us don’t actually know how to communicate with our partners in the right way, which is quite shocking when you consider how much time we spend together. [Read: How to communicate in a relationship and stop misunderstanding each other]

How to stop fighting with your boyfriend and move back to a place of love

If you want to learn how to stop fighting with your boyfriend, use these steps to bring the love back.

#1 Understand that communication is key. This is without a doubt the single biggest reason why couples fight. If you’re not able to talk to one another openly about what is bothering you without it turning into a row, how are you supposed to be happy? It’s impossible!

Think about how you communicate and what works versus what doesn’t. Sit down with one another, somewhere neutral and relaxing, and just talk. Don’t point the finger of blame, don’t shout. Simply say how you feel. Then allow him to say how he feels. You might actually be quite surprised with a few of the points that come up.

When you forget how to communicate with one another effectively, fights begin. [Read: How to fight fair in a relationship and grow closer]

#2 Take a little time to assess the problem. You might not want to spend time away from your guy when things are so volatile, but it’s the best thing to do. Take some time to really think about what the issue is, what your part in it is, and be open and honest with yourself.

Ideally, he should be doing the same. This doesn’t mean you should spend weeks apart, it simply means a few days on your own thinking things through. You’ll be amazed what a little space can do for you. [Read: How to give him space without losing him or your confused mind]

#3 Understand your part in the issue. Understanding how to stop fighting with your boyfriend means learning to identify the problem, break it down, and assess your part in it. You’re probably not completely innocent here, as much as you’d like to think you are! Just as he isn’t either.

Pointing the finger of blame doesn’t help. It’s far better to think about where you might be wrong and correct the issue. He should, as well. Of course, if he refuses to accept that he might be wrong too, you’ve got an even bigger issue. This is where communication comes in once more.

#4 Avoid text or email fights. Do you often argue over digital means? Stop doing that. There is a huge window for misunderstanding when it comes to written messages. How you mean to say something can easily be misconstrued and taken the completely wrong way by the other person.

If you’re already in a space where you’re arguing a lot, just one misunderstood message could easily trigger another row. Keep things normal over texts and instead, talk about the big things when you’re together. You’re not treading on egg shells here, you’re just being mindful of the fact that messages are easily mixed up. [Read: 16 reasons why your boyfriend seems so mean all the time]

#5 Call a truce. Sit down with your guy, and call a truce. Say that you’re tired of arguing all the time and want to reconnect, spend time doing fun things, and remember why you’re together in the first place. The biggest factor in knowing how to stop fighting with your boyfriend is knowing that there is love underneath it all and something worth saving.

Do the things you always used to enjoy together before the fighting started. This doesn’t mean you’re avoiding the bigger issue, it means you’re reconnecting as a couple. When you do that, you can overcome the underlying problem far more easily.

#6 If there is a specific problem, face it. If there is one thing that you’re arguing about all the time, one thing always the trigger, sit down, talk about it, and come to an agreement to let it go, or do whatever you need to do to fix it. There is obviously one specific problem at hand here, and action is needed. Vow to fight it together and stop pointing fingers of blame at one another. [Read: 10 immature things couples fight about all the time]

#7 Take a break. This is the last resort, of course. But maybe you just both need a little time apart to figure out what the problem is and find happiness within yourselves as individuals. Sometimes we become so caught up in being a couple that we lose ourselves. It can cause frustration and easily bubble up for even the smallest thing.

You don’t have to split, you can just have a break, and lay down the ground rules that you’re both happy with. If you don’t want your boyfriend to see other people during this temporary break, make sure that’s understood and you do the same. [Read: 20 signs to know if your boyfriend still love you through all the fights]

You could even put a time scale on it if it makes you both feel more secure; agree that you’ll come together to talk things through after two months, as one example. Hopefully after the break, you’ll appreciate one another far more, and you’ll both be at a point in your lives where you’re able to put the arguments aside and start afresh.

How to assess your relationship

Learning how to stop fighting with your boyfriend depends upon what you’re arguing about, how often, and what the fights are like. You shouldn’t stay in a relationship that makes you unhappy, and if you can’t see anything worth saving, question the future of it and communicate things effectively. Don’t jump to conclusions or assume the worst. But if arguments are becoming violent or toxic in general, you need some space at the very least. [Read: 25 signs and qualities that make a great boyfriend]

However, it’s also worth mentioning that arguments are very normal. Most couples go through a rough patch occasionally. Normally, it’s about reconnecting with one another and pushing away all the unnecessary stuff that causes toxic energy to break its way into what is normally a pretty solid union.

[Read: How to stop fighting in a relationship and learn to really talk]

Learning how to stop fighting with your boyfriend really comes down to appreciating one another and facing the issue together. Above all else, communicating with one another in a way that doesn’t include pointing the finger.

13 Sigma Male Traits That Set Them Apart from the Alpha & the Beta

You’ve met many men throughout your life. But can you tell a sigma male from a beta male? Here is everything you need to know about sigma male traits.

As a society, we like to label and categorize everything, including our women and men. The odds are you haven’t heard of sigma male traits before, yet you’ve heard of alpha and beta males. Now, there are some characteristics we make quick judgments on.

For example, the alpha male is stereotyped as an extroverted and arrogant person, while the beta males are considered shy and introverted. Of course, since these are stereotypes, you know those generalizations aren’t necessarily true. Meeting one alpha male who’s arrogant and loud, doesn’t mean they’re all like that.

13 sigma male traits that define this unique breed of men

But what about sigma males? Though you’re probably thinking to yourself, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever met one before’, you probably have. The sigma male isn’t a guy who’s trying to peacock his way through life, and he’s not the guy who’s going to be pushed around either.

[Read: How to be a man the way he really should be]

In other words, the sigma male is the guy who does his own thing without trying to stand out among the rest. This also means sigma males aren’t easy to identify. Alpha and beta males fall on each side of the spectrum, where sigma males float in between them.

Who are these mystery men with sigma male traits?

#1 They know what they want. Sigma men have a very strong idea of who they are and what they want in life. They have strong relationships around them and are independent in thought and action. They know what they want, and they don’t need to have their hands held while reaching their goals.

#2 They’re not “the nice guys.” When you go through the sigma male traits, you may start to think they’re the nice guys, the ones who play by the rules. But that’s far from reality. A sigma male is somewhat of a bad boy in the sense that if they don’t feel that something is wrong, they’ll do it whether the law says the opposite or not. [Read: Why good girls like bad boys – the truth uncovered]

#3 They enjoy living in the present. Everyone knows life is short, but not everyone uses their time on this earth to live in the moment. For a sigma male, he does his best to enjoy the present, and when it comes to the past, he neither wants to discuss it nor relive it. The past is in the past for the sigma male.

#4 They do their own thing. When everyone is going right, they go left. A sigma male enjoys living his life to the best of his own drum. They don’t need to call a friend when going out somewhere or need approval from their mom about what they want to wear. They do their own thing. [Read: Why the “nice guy” isn’t really such a nice guy]

#5 They get attention without trying. The thing about sigma males is that they’re not trying to gain the crowd’s attention by acting loudly or doing something crazy. They’re not attention seekers. And this is actually alluring for women and ends up naturally attracting attention towards them.

#6 They share many alpha male qualities. Here’s the thing, the sigma male isn’t that far off from the alpha male. So many characteristics shown in alpha males are also seen in sigma males. So, how do you tell the difference? That’s a tough question.

A sigma male is someone, though who has alpha male qualities, doesn’t feel the need to show them off for attention. Also, if they don’t take leadership roles, though they had opportunities, they’re probably sigma males. [Read: 30 most common alpha males that make you a real alpha]

#7 They think deep. This is also one of the main reasons why they have problems connecting with people. Sigma males are extremely analytical and overthinkers. This doesn’t come from having a lack of intelligence. Rather, it’s the opposite. They’re deep thinkers and highly intelligent people.

#8 They’re confident. A sigma male doesn’t share the same confidence as an alpha male. An alpha male is a dominant extrovert and needs the approval of other people. While the sigma male is a dominant introvert. He doesn’t need to be loud to show his confidence. This confidence comes from a genuine sense of self-worth. [Read: The subtle differences between a confident and arrogant man]

#9 They live in their heads. Now don’t take this as a bad thing. A sigma man knows who he is very well. He spends a lot of time self-reflecting and observing the world around him. His decisions are well-planned, and since he lives in his head, he overthinks everything. Of course, living in your head has its pros and cons.

#10 They don’t like giving into social expectations. A sigma male doesn’t like it when people try to impose their thoughts and opinion onto their lifestyle. They know what they want, and if it doesn’t fit into the social norms, that’s fine. Though they respect the way other people live, they have their own path in life to follow.

#11 They learn from their failures. Because the sigma male is constantly self-reflecting and overthinking, when they do make a mistake *and it does happen*, they learn from their failures. They may make the same mistake twice, but they’ll never make it a third time. Even if they need to do something that will momentarily hurt them but benefit them in the long run, they’ll do it.

#12 They can be loners. Since sigma males don’t need validation from other people, they may not have a lot of friends. On the other hand, they could have a lot of friends since people are attracted to those who have self-worth and confidence. But he’s not going to waste his time with people he doesn’t connect with. So, he very well could be a loner. [Read: 12 things to look for in a guy before you date him]

#13 They’re not the biggest talkers. This doesn’t mean they’re living a life of solitude. Sigma males are not alphas. In other words, they’re not going to be huge talkers. So, your first impression of them may not be the best. They’re not going to use empty words to keep a conversation going or give you false compliments.

[Read: Understanding the sigma males differences from an alpha or beta]

Hopefully, this helped you answer those questions about the sigma male traits. Who’s that guy?

Approach Anxiety Is a Flat Tire

approach anxiety
Anxiety is trying to imagine and solve every possible outcome, all at once. When you stop trying to control things you can’t, it’s like fixing a flat tire in your game.

Men often come to me in a desperate condition. They say, “I’m not that bad with women. If I could just destroy this approach anxiety, I’d be able to get all the girls I want.”

I feel like a car mechanic who specializes in changing tires. Every car owner may think their car is unique, but I’ve changed thousands of tires, to the point of routine. So while the student is saying “My father never paid enough attention, and my mother was overbearing, and I was a fat kid in grade 4, and…”

All I hear is “My tire is flat. Can you teach me how to change it?”
